Step Through E-Bike Frame with Integrated Luggage Carrier
Abstract

he invention is a re-designed bicycle frame which integrates a luggage carrier with the frame to carry backpacks, laptop bags, etc. The lower and almost horizontal top tube has a luggage carrier attached on its top which can swivel in-place to allow the user to mount the seat.

This luggage carrier is designed to carry the luggage without causing discomfort to the user. The bottom of the top tube has a space where a battery could be attached and a novel cable routing system allows for a pedal assist to the user, making the design usable for making e-bikes as well.

Uniqueness of the Solution
  • Luggage accommodating frame design: the frame has been re-designed to allow for a space to hold the luggage above the top tube in a convenient position
  • Step-through system to mount the bicycle: the luggage carrier is designed with a swivel function such that it rotates in place to allow the user to mount the bicycle
  • Comfortable user experience: the bicycle ensures a comfortable ride even when carrying backpacks, books, sheets etc.
  • Compatibility with e-bikes: the frame has been designed to accommodate a battery below the top tube in case of an e-bicycle
  • Cable routing system: the frame accommodates a novel system of cable routing to enable a single speed, rear hub motor to give some pedal assist to the e-bike
