National Space Day Celebration

To celebrate the successful Chandrayaan 3 mission in 2023, which prompted the Government of India to designate August 23rd as National Space Day, IIT Bombay is thrilled to host a 5-day exhibition in the convocation foyer, showcasing the wonders of space and the progress in space technology.This exhibition will present a variety of fascinating exhibits that showcase the vastness of space science and technological advancements.

President Murmu inaugurates India’s first Homegrown Car-T Cell Therapy at IIT Bombay

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that the launch of India’s first gene therapy is a major breakthrough in our battle against cancer. As this line of treatment, named “CAR-T cell therapy”, is accessible and affordable, it provides a new hope for the whole of humankind. She expressed confidence that it will be successful in giving new lives to countless patients.

The Etherion, a cutting-edge Electric Formula-style car

On March 27th, IIT Bombay Racing proudly unveiled their latest marvel: the Etherion, a cutting-edge Electric Formula-style car. This milestone marks the 13th electric vehicle crafted by the team since their transition to the EV category in 2011. Collaborating with the esteemed Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Company, the team achieved a breakthrough with the creation of the first-ever Carbon Fiber Monocoque. This innovation not only sheds significant weight but also enhances driver safety while fortifying the chassis with increased strength and rigidity.

MoU with WIPO, DBT and IIT Delhi

We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) and IIT Bombay.

This MoU is geared towards fostering the development of intellectual property (IP) knowledge through IP-related course materials within the Biodesign Program. It also includes the establishment of a WIPO-supported Global Health Innovation Fellowship Initiative, enabling international Fellows to participate in the program.
