ENTHUSE 2024, The Freshman Research Orientation @ IIT Bombay
Enthuse 2024 being conducted as part of the Under Graduate Orientation Programme at IIT Bombay was held on 28th July 2024. It is organized annually by Industrial Research and Consultancy Centre (IRCC) in collaboration with EnPoWER, and this year it had a participation of more than 1400 newly joined undergraduate students. This event was held simultaneously at four venues on the IIT Bombay campus and anchored by Professor In charges - Prof. Leena Vachhani (Dept. of Systems and Control Engg.), Prof. Sai Vinjanampathy (Dept. of Physics), Prof. Vikram Vishal (Dept. of Earth Sciences), and Prof. Nagamani Jaya Balila (Dept. of Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science). In all twenty professors from various departments briefly shared their research which provided the highlights of the research activities at IIT Bombay to get these newly admitted students excited about research.
This event gave an overview of the kind of research activities at IIT Bombay that range from fundamental sciences, high-end cutting-edge technologies, futuristic research areas, socially relevant areas, and more. The enthusiastic undergraduates were intrigued by the research opportunities at IIT Bombay and now we look forward to having more undergraduate students involved in the research. Overall, it was an enriching experience for the students to interact with the professors and IRCC during Enthuse.
