Seat cum Stretcher for Transporting Patients during Medical Emergencies through Intermediate Public Transport
Abstract

This invention outlines a modified seat design for public transport and utility vehicles which, when unlocked, unfolds into a comfortable stretcher that can be used to carry a patient in the absence of an ambulance. The “seat-cum-stretcher” design is equipped with 2 flaps, which unfold from under the seat and lock to transform the seat into a full-size stretcher. It is also equipped with rollers and handles that help the responders carry the patient.

Uniqueness of the Solution
  • Seat-cum-stretcher system: the seat is designed such that, when unlocked, it can transform into a stretcher which can be used to transport patients comfortably
  • Interior modifications: modifications to interior of the vehicles are suggested to accommodate the new design and be better suited for emergency patient transport
