QMS App for Data Collection from Medical Devices

A Quality Management System platform, specifically an Android app, is developed to facilitate data collection from medical devices in healthcare camp settings. The application utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to receive data from different types of medical devices. This data is then mapped to individual patient details, enabling comprehensive record keeping and analysis. The app features a multi-tiered user system, including roles for camp personnel, doctors, pharmaceutical representatives, and administrators. Key functionalities include camp and doctor registration, patient selection, real-time data display from connected medical devices, geotagging of camp locations, and the generation and sharing of comprehensive reports. This technology provides a streamlined and efficient solution for data management in remote or temporary healthcare environments.

Currently, healthcare data collection from medical devices in remote or resource-constrained environments like medical camps faces several limitations. Existing methods often involve manual data recording, leading to inefficiencies, errors, and difficulties in real-time data analysis. Additionally, the lack of a centralized platform for data aggregation and sharing hinders comprehensive health insights and collaboration between healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and researchers. This mobile application streamlines data collection from various medical devices, automates data integration and analysis, and facilitates secure data sharing among stakeholders involved in healthcare delivery, particularly in remote or mobile settings.

  • Multi-device Data Collection: Provides a centralized platform for collecting data from different medical devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), enabling comprehensive data capture from various sources during healthcare camps.
  • User Role-Based Access Control: The application incorporates distinct user roles, including camp personnel, doctors, pharma company representatives, and super admins, each with specific permissions and access levels to ensure data security and streamline workflows.
  • Patient-Device Data Mapping: Mapping the collected medical device data to individual patient profiles, allowing for personalized health insights and facilitating efficient diagnosis and treatment in the camp setting.
  • Real-Time Data Display: Facilitates real-time display of data received from medical devices, offering healthcare professionals immediate access to patient health information.
  • Camp Geotagging: The inclusion of geotagging functionality allows for the precise mapping of camp locations, facilitating efficient resource allocation, logistics management, and post-camp analysis. Automated Report
  • Generation and Sharing: Automates the generation of comprehensive reports based on the collected data, simplifying data analysis and enabling secure sharing with relevant stakeholders.

A mobile application (Android) has been developed to collect data from medical devices used in healthcare camps. The app communicates with at least three different medical devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to receive data. Four user roles are defined within the app: camp personnel, doctor, pharma company representative, and super admin. Key features of the app include camp and doctor registration, patient selection, data display from medical devices linked to patient details, camp geotagging, and report generation and sharing. The app facilitates efficient data collection and management during healthcare camps, enabling data-driven insights for improved healthcare delivery.

The technology outlined possesses significant potential for positive social impact within healthcare, particularly by facilitating accessible and data-driven healthcare initiatives. By enabling data collection from medical devices in remote or underserved areas through healthcare camps, the technology can bridge gaps in healthcare access. The Android app’s ability to receive data from various medical devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) ensures compatibility and versatility in diverse healthcare settings. The collected data, mapped to patient details and camp location through geotagging, can be analyzed to generate reports, offering insights into population health trends and the effectiveness of healthcare interventions. This data-driven approach empowers healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and policymakers to make informed decisions regarding resource allocation, treatment strategies, and public health interventions. The technology promotes more inclusive and informed healthcare decision-making, potentially improving health outcomes for underserved populations.

Primarily aimed at the healthcare industry, this application facilitates data collection from multiple Bluetooth-enabled medical devices, patient management, and report generation, thereby streamlining healthcare delivery in remote settings. Applications in the domains such as sports science (athlete monitoring), clinical trials (data collection), and remote patient monitoring could leverage and customize this platform to manage data flows from various devices, enhancing efficiency and decision-making processes.
