For its efforts towards protection and deployment of its intellectual property, the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks (CGPDTM) has conferred the National IP Award 2023 to IIT Bombay, under the category of Best Indian Academic Institution for Patents Filing, Grant & Commercialization.

The award ceremony was held on 13th October, 2023 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The trophy and prize money of INR 1,00,000 was presented by Shri. Piyush Goyal, Hon. Minister of Commerce and Industry, and was received by Mr. P. Prashant, Technical Officer, Office of Dean (R&D) on behalf of the institute. Prof. Abhay Karandikar, DST Secretary also graced the occasion.

IIT Bombay wishes to thank CGPDTM for bestowing this recognition and dedicates this award it to its faculty, students and staff for their contributions towards research and innovation. IIT Bombay shall continue to make concerted efforts to achieve technological self-reliance, create social impact through applied research & innovation, and nurture the growth of an IP driven knowledge economy.
