IITB Hydrogen Workshop, the 2024 edition of IRCC’s Annual CONferences on Emerging ConceptS [ICONS], was an unparalleled success, dedicated to illuminating the cutting-edge advancements in India's Hydrogen economy.
Held on February 16-17, 2024 at the Institute, this two-day extravaganza showcased an array of talks by the most eminent figures in hydrogen generation, storage, transportation and application, drawing from both industry titans and academic luminaries. Mr. Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary of MNRE, graced the occasion as the chief guest, delivering an awe-inspiring vision for the widespread adoption of hydrogen technologies among the masses in India.
Under the leadership of the Conveners Prof. Pratibha Sharma and Prof. Arnab Datta, the workshop included insightful addresses by Dr. V. K. Saraswat from NITI Aayog; Dr. Ashish Lele from NCL Pune; Dr. Kanakasabapati Subramanian from Ashok Leyland; Dr. Sumon Roy Choudhary from NMRL; Dr. Sunita Satyapal from US DoE; Dr. Anita Gupta from DST; along with many other speakers who shared their invaluable experiences in the realm of Hydrogen production, storage and utilization. The workshop also included captivating lectures by experts from IOCL, TCE, Adani, Cummins, BPCL, TATA Steel, Reliance, John Cockerill and others.
The exhibition segment showcased groundbreaking innovations ranging from type-4 hydrogen cylinders to hydrogen-based two wheelers, further illustrating IIT Bombay’s prowess in pioneering hydrogen-centric solutions.
