A Food Processor
Abstract

The product is a multi-functional electronic food preparation kitchen appliance which combines the functionalities of a mixer grinder, an immersion blender and a food processor into a compact frame. It provides a cordless immersion blender, which has a docking station to transfer the blender power to different jars via a belt drive and planetary gear system. This system allows for a greater range of usability of the jars, as well as different levels of torques and blending speeds by changing output power for different applications.

Problem Statement

Mixer grinder appliance of choice for new users due to its versatility and applications. However, common kitchen needs like handling hot items, portability and output food quality require users to buy additional appliances like immersion blenders to expand functionality. Owning multiple appliances for a household kitchen adds additional cost and eats up precious kitchen spaces and creates storage and maintenance issues. Thus, there is a need for a competitive and multi-usage appliance in the market.

Uniqueness of the Solution
  • Integrated Features: The appliance offers a compact configuration which has the usability of multiple regular appliances without any compromise in power
  • Unique Configuration: A novel configuration of the immersion blender with the jar via the usage of gears to offer more spin variations and greater range of usability
  • Different power levels: Different power outputs given for different blending needs
  • Clutter free configuration: Optimal configuration to facilitate optimal space utilization, ease of use, and appliance management
Prototype Details

The prototype uses a 12V battery powered cordless immersion blender which when coupled with input shaft on the base at dock port, receives 24V of DC input from the circuit board using a rectified transformer at the base. This increased power is transferred to the output shaft via a belt drive, which is used in the jar coupled with the output shaft.
