English - Marathi mapped Wordlist
The English Marathi mapped word list contains a list of English words and its corresponding Marathi translations The Marathi WordNet is a system for bringing together different lexical and semantic relations between the Marathi words. It is not just a machine readable dictionary or a thesaurus; but it is a concept base dictionary which has a structure of its own. Wordnet attempts to organize the lexical information in terms of word meanings, rather than word forms. A word is a conventional association between a word form (physical utterances or inscription) and a word meaning (lexicalized concept).
The design of the Marathi is based on Hindi wordnet which is inspired by the English Wordnet. In the Marathi wordnet the words are grouped together according to their similarity of meanings. Aims & usage of Marathi Wordnet is Research & Education, Sense Marking, Machine Translation.
