5G core components

As part of the end-to-end 5G testbed project, IITB has built components of the 5G core network, in collaboration with CEWIT and IIT Madras. The components developed by IITB are the Access and Mobility Function (AMF), Session Management Function (SMF) and the User Plane Function (UPF). 

The 5G core connects the user equipment (UE) and the radio access network (RAN) to the wired Internet and other networks.
