The inaugural event of TechConnect 2023, the premiere research and development outreach event of IIT Bombay, showcasing research to the public including students, industries and academia took place on 27 December 2023. Chief Guest, Mr. Harish Mehta, Co-founder and the First Elected Chairman of NASSCOM, Founder of the Onward Group, and author of The Maverick Effect, along with Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay inaugurated the event. This was followed by a visit to various exhibits by Mr. Mehta accompanied by various faculty members, as he interacted with participants and offered his insights. The highlight of the inaugural event was the lecture by Mr. Harish Mehta on the topic - .The Maverick Effect: The Secret Sauce Behind India's IT Revolution., where he laid out how researchers and students could create their own Maverick Effect by tapping into the potential of symphonic collaboration that can propel industry and national growth forward. This lecture attracted an enthusiastic audience, who later engaged in a lively interaction with Mr. Mehta, enriching the event's interactive and collaborative spirit.
