The working of the mechanical system is based on the principle of a parallelogram (bur bar mechanism; a stack of platforms is developed on which fanning is carried out. Between each platform thus exists a four bar mechanism. The system is basically based on the concept of developing farms in the vertical direction rather than expanding the iiirmland in horizontal direction. The mechanism is such that the 14111er/operator does not need to climb up the platforms to perform the farming operations, but instead the platforms can be brought down at ground level for the farmer to complete the operations and then can be sent back to their original vertical positions. Stacking the platforms helps in almost doubling the cultivation using the base land and the platforms.
