  • Often, biological studies need to handle small amounts of liquids, which is tricky and typically requires expensive equipment. This device simplifies the process using a magnet to move liquid droplets that contain the samples into tiny wells on a surface. 
  • Traditional methods require extensive resources, including significant amounts of chemicals and complex equipment, and often necessitate skilled personnel to operate. These methods are costly, time-consuming, and not suitable for use outside of well-equipped labs.
Abstract

This invention is designed for the efficient capture and analysis of very small biological entities such as single cells and microorganisms. It uses magnetic droplets to manipulate and study these particles in a detailed and precise manner without the need for electrical power.

  • Power-Free Operation: Operates entirely without electricity, ideal for field use or in areas without reliable power due to the inclusion of Two-Component System: Includes a top plate with microwells for capturing samples and a bottom plate with micropillars to guide and position the samples Magnetic Liquid Marbles: Utilizes droplets mixed with magnetic particles to transport biological samples into the microwells Manual Magnetic Manipulation: Allows precise control over sample placement using a simple handheld magnet, eliminating the need for electrical power or complex machinery
