Over 1,400 newly admitted undergraduate students from 15+ disciplines came together on 24th July 2026 for Enthuse 2026, an exciting introduction to the vibrant research ecosystem at IIT Bombay.

Organised annually by the Industrial Research and Consultancy Centre (IRCC) and EnPoWER, the institute’s student research wing, the programme was conducted simultaneously across four venues in the Lecture Hall Complex. It was led by faculty coordinators Prof. Aditi Balkrishna Chaubal (Dept. of Economics), Prof. Parag Bhargava (Dept. of Metallurgical Engg. & Materials Science), Prof. Hrishikesh Gadgil (Dept. of Aerospace Engg.) and Prof. Anish Modi (Dept. of Energy Science & Engg.) alongside two Student Coordinators - Anant Bartaria and Niti Mundra (Institute Secretaries, Academic Affairs and Heads, EnPoWER).

Through engaging presentations by faculty members from diverse disciplines, students explored the breadth of research at IIT Bombay—from fundamental sciences and cutting-edge technologies to futuristic research domains and socially impactful innovations.

A special highlight of this year’s programme was the participation of student speakers, who shared their own research journeys and experiences. Their stories offered the incoming batch a glimpse into what it means to be a student researcher and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

By bringing together faculty and students, Enthuse 2026 showcased the dynamic, collaborative and inclusive spirit of research at IIT Bombay—and encouraged our newest members to begin their journey as curious minds, innovators and future researchers.
