A process for manufacturing free flowing jaggery

 The mobile unit will take care of the problem of fresh cane availability by eliminating the problem of cane transportation. The quality of jaggery significantly depends on the cane quality (the fresher the better). Thus, having a small-scale unit (1/2ton jaggery production per day) incorporated with mobility can solve the problem of sugarcane transportation. Since the unit goes to the farm, the cane can be used immediately after harvesting. The generally season of jaggery making is of 4 months. Having such a mobile unit can extend the season by 2-3 months by bringing the plant next to cane available farm and use surplus sugarcane remained by sugarcane factory. There is a huge demand for jaggery powder in the market. The mobile unit utilizes a proven powder making technique developed and patented by IIT Bombay and produces good and consistent quality jaggery powder which can help satisfy the growing demand. The proposed technology will eliminate the reduce land coverage required for traditional stationary unit and produce good, consistent quality jaggery.
