Healthcare Research Consortium

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, is proud to be one of the initiates of the Healthcare Research Consortium, a nation-wide platform for collaborative, interdisciplinary research between engineering and the life sciences.

Launched in September 2011, the primary aim of the consortium is to provide resources and expertise to projects designed to enhance the practice of healthcare via technical assistance. Our focus is on facilitating processes of preventive care, detection of diseases and curative delivery through technological innovation and the production of new knowledge.

A core commitment of the Healthcare Consortium is to aid the development of human capital, especially amongst underserved social groups. The Consortium makes especial room for projects that empower people at the grassroots level via low-cost innovation and skills-development, enabling communities to live better, healthier and more enriched lives.
